Technical wreck diving involves penetrating a wreck to find out what’s inside. When you enter a wreck, you enter an “overhead” environment, meaning that there is no way to return directly to the surface. This type of wreck diving requires special equipment and training because getting lost is a real possibility if you don’t know what you’re doing. The following is a list of potential dive gear you may use when technical wreck diving. Depending on where the wreck is, how deep the wreck is, water temperature, visibility, and how far into the wreck you plan on going influences the type and quantity of gear you need for a particular dive.
